  • I work primarily with individual clients aged 18 and older, and I occasionally take on teen clients with the consent of their guardians. My clients come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone.

At the moment, I am not offering couple or group therapy, but feel free to reach out. I may begin offering these services in the future.

  • I provide evidence-based therapies tailored to each client’s needs, including:

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

    • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Depending on your presenting challenges, I may also integrate additional approaches, such as,

    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma processing

    • Guided imagery to support self-reconnection and emotional regulation

My approach is flexible and personalized, ensuring that therapy aligns with your goals, experiences, and pace.

  • No, I do not provide formal assessment or diagnosis at the moment. However, I’m happy to connect you with psychologists who specialize in comprehensive assessments and diagnostic services. If you’re simply curious about certain mental health conditions, I also share a range of self-administered, evidence-based screening tools to support self-education and personal insight.

  • I primarily offer virtual therapy sessions via Zoom, providing flexibility and accessibility for clients wherever they are. I also have in-person schedule available for Alberta-based clients, particularly for residents living in Edmonton, starting mid-December 2025.

  • Our standard therapy session is 50 minutes. In some cases, sessions may be extended to 60 minutes at no additional cost, depending on the presenting issues. For clients who prefer more time, extended sessions (80 minutes) are also available for booking at a higher rate. Various rates are listed on the Services page and I offer sliding scale for equity deserving individuals and anyone in need of assistance for therapy with limited spots.

  • I can direct bill to various insurance companies, depending on your specific policy. If direct billing is not available, I can provide a receipt for payment made directly by you, which can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

    Payment methods:

    • Credit card on file

    • E-transfer

For more details about insurance, please visit the Services page.

  • My booking, cancellation, and rescheduling policy requires at least 24 hours’ notice. This helps ensure availability for all clients and allows for schedule adjustments when needed.

  • I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), licensed to provide services under these credentials to clients in Alberta (AB), British Columbia (BC), Ontario (ON), Saskatchewan (SK), and Manitoba (MB).

You can check with your insurer by asking about coverage for counselling and psychotherapy services.

Important Note: Starting mid-December 2025, for clients in Alberta, I will provide psychological services solely as a Provisional Psychologist, and will not offer services under the Counsellor or Psychotherapist credentials for AB clients due to the regulation requirements.

  • After our initial consultation, if you decide to move forward, our first session is usually a thorough assessment.

We’ll explore your current challenges, learn about your family and support system, mental health history, existing stressors, self-care routines, and strengths. Together, we’ll set therapy goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you.

No need to come prepared like it’s an interview. Please just come as you are. Feel free to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, and you’re welcome to have a water bottle or a cup of tea/coffee to stay cozy and hydrated.

This session is meant to be supportive, non-judgmental, and safe, giving us a good starting point for your therapy journey.

  • The length of therapy really depends on your unique goals, challenges, and progress. Some clients benefit from a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others find longer-term support helpful for deeper patterns or ongoing stressors.

We will collaboratively review your progress throughout therapy and adjust the plan as needed. My approach is flexible and goal-focused, so you’ll always know what you’re working toward and can make decisions about continuing or pausing therapy along the way.

  • Yes. Everything you share in therapy is confidential, which means it stays private between us. Your privacy is protected by professional and legal standards.

There are a few exceptions required by law, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if disclosure is required by a court order. I will always explain these exceptions clearly and discuss any steps with you before sharing information.

The goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share openly and feel supported.

  • Therapy can be helpful if you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, trauma, or feeling “stuck” in life. You don’t need a crisis or a major issue to benefit. Even wanting to better understand yourself or improve coping skills is a good reason to reach out.

Unlike taking a pill or monitoring numbers on a test, therapy is a process of exploration, growth, and self-understanding. Progress may not always be immediate or linear, but it is meaningful and long-lasting.

The best way to find out is to schedule an initial consultation, where you can ask questions, share your concerns, and see if the approach feels like a good fit. Therapy is collaborative, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and supported from the start.

  • It’s completely okay if you decide to switch therapists or end therapy at any point. Therapy is a personal journey, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and supported.

If you choose to end or transition, I can discuss your progress, next steps, and ongoing strategies, and I’m also happy to support you in locating or referring you to other professionals if needed.
